Who was M Visvesvaraya?
Popularly known as Sir MV, Visvesvaraya undertook many complex projects and delivered remarkable groundbreaking work right results during his career. He patented and installed an irrigation system with water floodgates in the Khadakwasla reservoir near Pune to be known as the ‘Block System’ in 1903 to raise the food supply level and storage to the highest level.
